Phil Goodman is Chief Financial Officer of Dellcom Aerospace. He joined Dellcom in 2013 and his focus has been to strengthen Dellcom’s financial reporting and internal systems and communication tools.
Phil has been CFO and General Manager of a benefits consulting firm owned by a publicly traded, international insurance broker and VP Finance and Director of their US operations. He was actively involved in mergers & acquisitions, particularly in the US where he played a key role in the rapid growth of the business. After returning to Canada he took over a small family mattress manufacturing and retail operation and quickly quadrupled it in size. He was the first Canadian asked to join the Board of the International Sleep Products Association (ISPA) and soon after raised the financing to purchase the Ontario operations of an international mattress manufacturer.
Phil has provided a variety of consulting services. One assignment was interim CEO of Canada’s largest charitable gaming operation. The six month assignment lasted four years, included raising substantial funds to buy out one of the principals, and ended with the successful sale of the business. He then became CEO of a high technology start-up based in Quebec City. The start- up was eventually sold to a public company. More recently Phil was part owner and CFO of a medium size manufacturer and distributor of bedding and linens that was facing enormous challenges from global competition – by reorganizing internal operations, restructuring bank financing, and participating in programs offered by the Export Development Corporation (EDC), the company not only survived the threat but was well positioned for future growth.
Phil is a CA and CPA and has a BA from Wilfrid Laurier University (Economics).
